Recording playback has error with BBB v3 behind Scalelite 1.5.2

Hello,

I have put my newly installed BBB v3.0.1 behind Scalelite 1.5.2 with Moodle. I was able to launch the Meeting and did the recording. Used some test drawing on Whiteboard. 

The recording was completed. When I played the recording I see the attached error.

The recording on BBB v3.0.1 with installed GL playback was good without issue.

Is the new BBB v3 not compatible to work with SL 1.5.2 ?

Hi,

I have the same problem with my Scalelite server. Did you resolve your problem? When I look at upgrading the scalelite server, there is not adequate installation information.

I think you have to use the updated scalelite version (1.6.4, https://github.com/blindsidenetworks/scalelite/tree/v1.6.4) where this issue https://github.com/blindsidenetworks/scalelite/issues/1144 has already been fixed w/ this pull request: https://github.com/blindsidenetworks/scalelite/pull/1096

So please try w/ this version (scalelite 1.6.4) and report back.

Hi,

I installed my Scalelite Server from the scalelite_run repo. I updated my Scalelite server to version 1.6.5, but I got the same error. I attached my version page screenshot, error screenshot, .env, and docker-compose.yml files. I am searching for a playback proxy image with the Jammy tag, but any image on the Scalelite Docker Hub page. I have to use the SCALELITE_RECORDINGS_DOCKER_IMAGE:-bigbluebutton/bbb-playback-proxy:focal-260-alpine image for the playback. And I want to access Scalelite playback video files from this sample URL, but I can't access this link. How can I resolve the problems? Can you help?

Which BBB version are you using ? There was a post that from BBB 3.0.4 has lots of fixes. Current version is BBB 3.0.8. 

I have a plan to test myself in a few days. Will share once I have the results.

My bigbluebutton server version is 3.0.8 and when I open recordings from bigbluebutton player there is no problem. But when I open from scalelite player I got error.

Could you try changing "SCALELITE_RECORDINGS_DOCKER_IMAGE:-bigbluebutton/bbb-playback-proxy:focal-260-alpine" to "SCALELITE_RECORDINGS_DOCKER_IMAGE:-bigbluebutton/bbb-playback-proxy:jammy-300-alpine"? The new image got released yesterday and should fix this issue.

Thank you for your notification. I update the docker files and there is no error anymore. I am planning the test just video file (m4v) upload to S3 bucket and playing with video.js player from our LMS.

Hello,

Is the SL playback "bigbluebutton/bbb-playback-proxy:jammy-300-alpine" able to play recordings which was recorded on BBB 2.7 ?  I have plan to upgrade my BBB 2.7 to BBB 3.x and need to know the effect on old recordings.

Hi!

That's right, bbb-playback (via bbb-playback-proxy) is backward compatible [as much as possible], meaning you will be able to replay your 2.7 recordings.
