Audio Device Connection Issue in BigBlueButton - Error Code: 0 WEBSOCKET_CONNECTION_FAILED

Hello everyone,

I have been using BigBlueButton for web conferencing and recently encountered an issue after several successful sessions. The error message appears as follows:

"There was an issue with your audio devices. We couldn't enable your microphone. Review your browser and system settings. Restart your browser and try again. Error code: 0 - WEBSOCKET_CONNECTION_FAILED."

I've tried restarting the browser and reviewing system settings, but the issue persists. Has anyone experienced this before, and could you provide any suggestions to resolve it?

Hi,

this could be releated to you being behind a very restrictive firewall.
If you're the BBB admin you should use a stun/turn server.
If you're not the BBB admin contact your BBB admin and suggest using a stun/turn server.

On my experience, just reinstall bbb using bbb-install.sh script. It should work.

I was able to simulate the error by joining a conference and then restarting using bbb-conf --restart then I got the same error message.

Maybe this is your case too.

Kindly start the meeting again and let us know if you are fine now.

Do you have another meeting running on the same devices e.g google meet, zoom, ....?
