NEED HELP!! Change the banner and disable public chat

Hi 

I'm new to BBB i want to know ho can i change the banner when the meeting starts and disable the public chat from the both end which is moderator and attendee while creating the meeting i have user these parameters ['lockSettingsDisablePrivateChat', 'lockSettingsDisablePublicChat', 'lockSettingsDisableNote'] to be true means it will disable them but only Notes are disabled but the Public and Private chat are enabled.

Hi Umair,

The default welcome message is set in bigbluebutton.properties, see

  https://docs.bigbluebutton.org/dev/api.html#configuration

The default welcome message can be overridden by the front-end.  Do you have control over the front-end that your users are using?

You can disable chat completely by editing

  /usr/share/meteor/bundle/programs/server/assets/app/config/settings.yml

and disabling chat on the server

  chat:

    enabled: false

Restart BigBlueButton.  When users join the session, there will not be any chat

Thanks it worked chat are now disabled but favicon.ico is not changing what I did is rename the old file as favicon.ico and upload the new file as favicon.ico and restart the server but still its showing the old BBB favicon.

Wait the icon is changed but the people who are joining the meeting are seeing the changed icon but the person who has initiate the meeting seeing the old of BBB why??

Hello, will passing the 'lockSettingsDisablePublicChat' to true via the API call disable the chat feature, or the chat can only be disabled via settings? We are looking to manage the public chat status based on the user roles.

Use https://mconf.github.io/api-mate/ to test out how this works on your server would be easiest way to find out how BBB works.

 

These forums are all monitored by volunteers as time allows and expecting someone to answer with NEED HELP!! In subject line will probably delay a response 😊

 

Only 2 roles in bbb,  moderator, attendee   this param sets the default if you pass on an api call.

 

The moderator can always change the settings once in the meeting dynamically.
