for such cases did you think about using separate rooms per language?
the translator could turn on the mic in the corresponding language room.
the original speaker only in his language corresponding room.
this way you would not have a limitation on parallel languages.

I found a workaround which may be furthermore improved/developed in a more interactive and friendly level.
My suggestion is to use the features of break out rooms for simultaneous translations.
A case and possible solution:
It will be good if we may change names of the rooms (now they looks like Room 1, Room 2...) - this will allow participants to identify the language group to join
This may work, I assume, however, in any case it is a workaround.
Ideally, I suggest to re-use this feature and create the real interpretation functionality, which will allow moderators to easily manage language groups, and participants to join and leave them.
I do not see why the breakout rooms should be better than using separate rooms.
and I really do not see the need for this feature being included as you just will limit yourself - when using a room per language you can have as many as you want.
the presenter is in the main room
the translator joins the main room listen only and is moderator in the language room.
users join the room of their language.
if they want to have video of the original they join the main room without audio.
in this setup you have everybody seeing the video of the main room
listening to the language of choice.
only translators have to listen to the main room and natives.
what do you miss here? (beside having everything in one room)
using breakout rooms just makes it more complicated and limited so far.

Hi,
you can just create more than one room?
make a room myMeetingLanguage1
and a second room myMeetingLanguage2
The users join the language of choice - the translators join the language they want to listen and the langauage they will speak. Of course listenOnly in the one where they get the input and unmuted in the room where to speak.
as this is not really complicated and can be used easily to
achieve translations with no limitation, I cannot see why it has
to be implimented ...
Only benefit would be, that users who want the original videeo would not have to join two rooms.
cheers

as I wrote do the same for each language and invite the users to their corresponding room.
as the discussion goes more about how to use bbb the topic may be moved to the users list though. ;-)

yeah absolutely. the suggestion with separate rooms came up to make it possible at all for now.
and I see the need for it in regard to working together.
thanks for the link to the issue, good to see, that it is planned.
cheers
