BigBlueButton 2.6.0 released!!!

We are pleased to announce BigBlueButton 2.6.0!

This is the official release of BigBlueButton 2.6, the culmination of ~8 months of development, 2842 commits, 4 alpha, 7 beta, and 9 release candidates.

This is a major release of BigBlueButton and contains multiple new or improved features
  -  a fully reimplemented whiteboard built on top of https://github.com/tldraw/tldraw,
  - downloading presentations with annotations,
  - exporting of shared notes to the whiteboard,
  - exporting content (shared notes and presentation with annotation) from the breakout rooms to the main room,
  - easier setup for polling,
  - recording in video format,
  - easier management of breakout room users,
  - support for uploading a presentation straight from Nextcloud,
  - live automatic closed captions,
  - improved layout management,
  - improvements to webcam sharing - backgrounds, brightness, pinning,
  - supporting dark theme, and
  - an improved echo test!

You will also notice improved stability and usability as well as some polishing of the user interface!  This release runs on Ubuntu 20.04.

We need a bit more information to help.  Have you installed BigBlueButton before?  Is this server on a publicly accessible internet?  Did you get any errors during the running of bbb-install.sh?

1. I have repeatedly installed bbb starting with version 2.2. (from 2021)
2. Before that, 2.5 worked. Site access to the Internet 100%.
3. Formatted disk
4. Ubuntu 20.04 is installed

The email address needs to be valid -- try using a valid email address and let us know if you see any errors during the installation process.

1. the email is valid, it is used constantly
2. When executing sudo bbb-conf -check, the answer is in version 2.5 of the line

What is causing the error

I test the link " https://xxx.bbb.org/playback/presentation/2.3/114910b223d1232d86d9a9eee084da23ca0d775b-1679468535813/video/index.html " any content visible.  How can I access the mp4 file from the browser?

Hi Fred!
I continue my work, but I am stubborn.
1. Today I installed version 2.5 - it was installed without problems. 2. After that, I installed 2.6 on top of it, that is, according to the recommendations, I updated it to 2.6. Error 1002, no presentation by default. Then, after restarting the server, the same errors as before - the nginx service does not start.
3. At this point, I deleted everything again and installed 2.5. Working.
4. It is interesting to hear feedback from those who installed 2.6 from scratch.

Is the turn server configured as internal turn server by default or do we have to install this new feature seperately?

Do we still need an external stun or turn server for any case or is this now  completely obsolete?

The link you provided is for the presentation playback. If you've set up video recording correctly following from the link up in the thread, the same link would work if you replace `/presentation/` with `/video/`.

Then in the browser, just right-click and Save-as. The file will be with extension .m4v -- mp4 video. Here is an example from one of my recent test26.bigbluebutton.org tests
