Error message

Hi,

I'm running 2.5 on my dev-bbb instance and tonight I have:

root@dev-bbb:~# bbb-conf --check

BigBlueButton Server 2.5-alpha-4 (280)

root@dev-bbb:~# wget -qO- https://ubuntu.bigbluebutton.org/bbb-install-2.5.sh | bash -s -- -v bionic-250 -s dev-bbb.faircam.net -e phi...@phillw.net -a -w -g

bbb-install: This script can only install BigBlueButton 2.5 (or later)

What's the issue?

Hi Phill,

You caught me in the process of updating for alpha.5 (the switch to Ubuntu 20.04). I will post in a few moments about the release with alpha.5.

In short - the script bbb-install-2.5.sh now runs correctly only on Ubuntu 20.04 (as of ~2 hours ago - when you posted)

The new message should read

"This script can only install BigBlueButton 2.5 (or later) and is meant to be run on Ubuntu 20.04 (focal) server."
Sorry about that!

P.S. The NodeJS 12->16 issue you reported in previous alphas should now be resolved.

Still an error on my system.. ah, I see the issue!! need to upgrade server to 20.04!!!! May be worth alerting people to this :)

Hi Fred,

sorry for not noticing. 

Long story cut short..... I applied for a job that is 20 min cycle ride, never heard back so accepted one that is 1.5 hours by public transport there and back. I have been offered + accepted that new position.  I know that Paul (zleap) has been in touch to say that he'll attend meetings. For whatever reason, ubuntu won't let me upgrade the server due to bbb's ppa files. I'm tired so will look into this tomorrow, may be a simple case of commenting them out so it doesn't bitch at me :D  I'll post up to the dev group how I get on.
