Hwy 9 and 9W

I have consistently advised using alternatives to these two highways when traveling the Hudson Valley in NY. They are amongst the most dangerous in NY State.

I agree with you, but what's the question here? Or is this post regarding less traveled alternatives? Do you have specific routes that you recommend? 

Josh in NYC, lifelong 9 and 9W rider, for better, but mostly for worse.

Makes me wonder if anyone has revisited all the Adventure Cycling routes with an eye to changing road conditions.

The financial situation at Adventure Cycling is dire and changes are coming. 

States have taken on some of this with the USBR designations.
