Hello Hello

Hope you are well and happy to see this email about our BHS67 Reunion since we graduated 55 years ago.  We have reserved space on Friday August 19th and Saturday August 20th to get together. Friday night is usually a relaxed get together to meet with classmates coming to town for the Saturday night Reunion.  A tent canopy will be set up for us outside the skating rink at Leddy Park.  We will  have that grassy treed area with picnic tables and grills right beside the stairs heading down to the beach. Plan on bringing a comfortable lawn chair and maybe a cooler filled with ice to keep bevies cold. You may also bring your favorite beverages but glass bottles are not permitted.  So, boxes and cans will be fine.  (A keg is not allowed).  Bathrooms are nearby and available. The reunion committee usually provides snacks at the Friday night event although a brave soul may choose to use the grills for us.  This perfect location may bring back so many memories!!! Then, the main event is Saturday August 20th at the Community Sailing Center on the waterfront in Burlington.  This wonderful place has an open pavilion at the top of the building to ensure summer breezes and exquisite views of the lake and sunset.  There is a lovely elevator to take you there.  Delicious food will be provided by Backyard Bistro Catering and most beverages will be available.  When we can be together, when we can see each other, our youthful, lighthearted spirit can definitely come out to play.  It will be so nice to be with you and laugh and giggle and dance.  This party will let us feel that joy again.

The reunion committee still has much to do but I wanted to send this out so you can make the necessary arrangements to get here.  I will be mailing almost 100 letters to classmates that do not have an email address that we can find.  We shall see if we have the correct mailing address sometime soon.  Some classmates have no contact information in our address book.  I’ve included the list and ask you to take a look. You may know exactly where they are.  I certainly hope someone can help us find them.  Please let me know if you have their information.

Some classmates have already sent in the fee. To those of you that have stated you cannot be here for the reunion, please know we know, but know you will continue to get the reunion emails.  We have time to decide on decorations (solar twinkle lights, balloons) and other enhancements and I hope everyone can help. Right now we’re focused on getting the invitation and information out to everyone.  

I’ve been experimenting with Zoom so we could all speak to one another about all this. Each time I set one up, I feel it is a test to see if it will work in regard to number of participants and duration.  Please be part of the experiment next time I send one out.  I’m thinking along the lines of 30 minutes every First Friday at Four until August. Then more often in August if we need it.  I didn’t set one up April 1st  because 1. I wasn’t prepared and 2. I didn’t want any April Fool shenanigans.

Thanks so much for all you continue to do for our class. None of our reunions would have happened if it wasn't for your hard work.

Nope.  I never posted a list of kids that were/are coming ever. so the ones waiting to see if their clique would be in attendance, the ones waiting to see if the popular kids would be there- have never attended. The reunion has always been a party to bring together BHS67 classmates.  This is a party to welcome home kids that have moved away, a party to give kids still here in Vermont a chance and a reason to get together. 

You may not remember us but we remember you and would love to see you, hear your life story, learn what skills you used on your adventure. 

Integrity asks us to always invite the entire class, even those that have never attended.  This may be the year they can attend.  If you come I know you will enjoy it and you will enrich the rest of us with your presence. Please come.

Thanks for all the hard work. We plan to be there with bells on. Assume you got my check. Let me know if you did not.

 Always enjoy my trips to Burlington. It has become a very busy place in the summer with activities. We travel there most every year and hotels are always booked and not cheap. Something happened to the Burlington we grew up in. Others have discovered how wonderful it is. Look forward to seeing everyone. Stay safe.

Oh it would be so good to see you at the reunion Mary!!!!!  Hope you can make it this year. If not this year then maybe the next one. 

I need to know who is coming a week or so before the reunion for the venue to set up tables and chairs and give the caterer a head count for food and the bar can adequately estimate the amount of beverages to have on hand for individual purchase. If you were to come without being in the count, and just stand there, and not eat, and not purchase a beverage, you would not experience the reunion as it should be experienced. We will all have fun getting to know each other again. How are we different now from who we were then.  How are we the same.   55 years ago!!!

I hope to see you in the count this year.

Hello Patti. 

On Friday the tent at Leddy goes up at 3:00 and I will be there then. I will bring and eat a picnic dinner 5:00 or so. Hope everyone will bring a picnic or come to Leddy right after their dinner. Everyone also must bring their own beverage of choice, although kegs or glass bottles are not allowed.  

On Saturday, the Community Sailing Center is open at 5:00.  The caterer/bar set up will be ready at 5:00 for cocktail purchases. Food will be fashionably served sometime later.

Thanks for all you do to keep the BHS class of 67 connected. There's no way we would have had the many reunions we've had without you making it happen.
