Dear John,

I have recently discovered your website and have found it to be a fantastic resource. 

After becoming very interested in card games after reading one of David Parlett's books, I came across what appears to be a card or domino peg scoreboard in a local antique shop. I have been searching what game the scoreboard may have been used for and have had no luck so far. After searching your site I understand that the card games Crash and All Fours may be potential candidates but have been unable to find any other examples. It seems much too small to have been used for Cribbage or similar relatives. I wondered if you might have come across one before in your research? It appears to be made from bakelite and brass and was found in the UK.

I would be very grateful if you could offer any suggestions or point me in the direction of a useful resource.

It may be a scoreboard for Crash, or 13 card Brag.  There are lots of variants of Brag, a quick and enjoyable English gambling card game mostly played in pubs.  First to 11 points was a popular one.  Crash tends to be played more in the North of England.  Scoreboards were sometimes made for Crash and John's excellent website depicts a couple of other layouts.  https://www.pagat.com/partition/crash.html

Yes, I agree, it could be Crash. Ideally it would be good to have some definite confirmation that scoreboards of this shape were really used for Crash.
