2SW: What's with that ground wire in the speaker cabinet?

The one that goes all the way around the periphery of the wood cabinet... I've thought about it and haven't a clue why it's there or what it's doing.

Any idea what that's all about?  Is it some kind of anti-corona thing?

I doubt it’s from the coronavirus.
