Hello everyone,

The month passed so quickly! It is time for the BOC monthly board meeting which will be the 3rd Thursday of each month at 6pm. So Thursday, March 19th, is the date and we will meet at my house - 377 Songo Pond Rd. Everyone is welcome to attend - you don't have to be on the board. We'd love to hear ideas from all BOC members. If you can't make it, but have an idea to share, please email me. Feel free to bring a snack to share since it is that time of night when everyone is hungry. Children are welcome.

The agenda so far:

1) Melinda Remington from Age Friendly Community Initiative (AFCI) is proposing multigenerational walks for the spring and is looking to see how the BOC can be involved.

2) Update on Northern Forest Community Recreation Grant application.

3) BOC Gear - culling out gear that may be damaged, out of date, and getting inventory updated. How to go about getting damaged up-to-date gear repaired. Also, reviewing the Gear Borrowing Agreement form that Shannon wrote last month.

4) Ideas for outdoor mud season fun.

5) Discuss BOC Annual Ski & Snowboard Sale and how it stays relevant in an age of online sales. How to impart institutional knowledge about the ski sale to a newer generation. Getting a detailed BOC Ski & Snowboard Sale Handbook organized.

6) Next BOC Meeting is a Celebration Meeting with Maine West Project Play on Thursday, April 16th, 5 - 7pm!
From Sam Langlois:
Please join us for the 2nd annual End of Season Celebration and Potluck, Thursday, 4/16, 5-7 pm at Pine Hill. Come check out the new Maine West Project Play wax shed, enjoy some good food, reminisce about the season, share ideas for next year, return any club gear you still have, put some storage wax on your skis (we will provide the wax and the wax machine), and celebrate this ski community. We will share some appreciations and season highlights. All are welcome!

Thank you and see you Thursday!

Georgia, Dog and I did a reconnaissance around the BVT trails, single track, and I-95 areas. We were on foot, with me using poles and cleats to match her nimble four legs on slippery surfaces. It is remarkable how much of a solid base there is on the ski trails and sections of the single track.
As I write this, keep in mind I have no authority on what is currently allowed or not in terms of trail use. But, as an observation/speculation, after temperatures drop again tonight and things firm up and freeze, the single track will be good for fat bikes with studs and hiking with cleats. If we get even the thinnest coat of snow later in the week or weekend, I-95 and other areas will be fun for those who like to cruise around on fish scales.
