Hey all,
Timely reminder here of the first Berkeley Linux User Group meetup of the month.
Both the virtual and the in-person physical meetups start at 11:00am PST (that's of course Pacific _Standard_ Time) this Sunday, November 12th and go to 2:00pm or however late people want to participate.
Please see the currently available meetup schedule at https://berkeleylug.com/meetings graciously provided by Michael P for further BerkeleyLUG meetup details.

Info of virtual meetup thru Jit.si Meet ...

Dial-in: +1.512.647.1431 PIN: 1036 1972 20#
Another reminder here that Sunday's BerkeleyLUG Jit.si Meet session will require login authentication near the time the scheduled virtual meetup begins "using a Google Account _or_ a Facebook account _or_ a GitHub account", as per Rick M's previous posting 'meet.jit.si change (re: initial room creation)' at http://linuxmafia.com/pipermail/sf-lug/2023q3/015885.html

IIRC, the consensus from meetups held during the last few months is that the in-person physical meetup will again be at Caffe Strada.
Caffe Strada's address is 2300 College Ave Berkeley, CA 94704 and it is located at the Southwest corner of College and Bancroft across the street from the main Cal campus (see its OpenStreetMap.org geolocation map at https://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=19/37.8691/-122.25484 )
+ Website at https://caffestrada.com/
+ Yelp writeup at https://www.yelp.com/biz/caffe-strada-berkeley
Ph  510.843.5282

Own current plans for the Sunday meetup are to install and configure elsewhere an appropriate Linux distro on a recently-acquired Tiny Form Factor Lenovo ThinkCentre M73 PC device -- further device specs at https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/pd029621-detailed-specifications-for-thinkcentre-m73-tiny-form-factor
* 128 GB 2.5" SSD
* 8 GiB RAM (2 x 204-pin 4 GiB SODIMMs)
* display provided by an available (but _not_ easily-portable!) LCD monitor for connection to VGA DB-15 port
* yes fully-functional Gigabit ethernet port; no Intel Centrino Wireless-N 11b/g/n wireless adapter

Cheers!

I am here at Strada under the patio.  Nice sunny day!!

There is a street fair on Telegraph so keep that in mind as
will affect travel.  Also when I arrived there was police/fire activity on College between Durant and Haste.

When you must stand up for something important in the face of those who would readily cut you down, then you must continually remind yourself of the words of the great Mahatma Gandhi,

"First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win."

Ok I'm out.

Next week is the Pi meeting at SudoRoom.   I'll have the Pi 5 that the foundation sent me and I should have the one I preordered
when the 5 was announced.  Last Pi meeting was the Pi 5 demo and one pi 5 given away (and 2 lightly used Pi 4!)

Till next BerkeleyLUG in 2 weeks.
