Reminder here of the very last Berkeley Linux User Group meetup of the year and first one of the Winter season.
Both the virtual and the in-person physical meetups start at 11:00am PST this Sunday, December 25th, and go to 2:00pm or however late people want to participate.

Yes I'll be at Cafe Strada.  There is power and wifi.  If the cafe wifi goes out there is always the University wifi.  

Power plugs are a bit loose.  So if you have a plug/adapter it may tend to fall out.  It's a good idea to bring a 

powerstrip.  

I just got a Framework laptop (Unboxing)  It's a pretty new laptop company but this is already the second 

generation.  The promise is modular, repairable and upgradable.  framework 

Anyways, I'll be trying to set it up with Arch.

So ... if Strada is open (well, there is their outdoor space even if
they're closed ... but does that still have power when
they're closed?), there's also question of hours (what Google sayeth and
caffestrada.com say don't agree ... Google appears
likely the more current/accurate) /and/ location (if open, still
temporarily relocated to
Freehouse Restaurant, 2700 Bancroft Way ?
)

Anyway, I /might/ possibly be there (wherever there is / ends up) ... or
not. My schedule/plans on the 25th
may still be in flux, so ... not sure if I'll be there or manage to
swing by.
Hmmm, I made the last Pi.BerkeleyLUG meeting ... bit latish ...
virtually, ... saw Tom, could see his lips move,
don't know if he or anyone else could hear me or if other(s) were there
at the time ... when I'd connected earlier,
Jitsi Meet didn't show anyone there but me ... for about an hour or so
... then it dropped, and I immediately
reconnected ... and it showed Tom there ... so very possible Tom was
there the whole time (or at least when I was
connected), but Jitsi Meet wasn't showing that ("split brain syndrome"
again?).
BerkeleyLUG meeting before that I also joined virtually - briefly ... it
was near end of meeting time ... but I didn't
see anyone connected (at least that Jitsi Meet would show me) the brief
time I was connected for that meeting.

In all cases, everyone have fine holiday(s) and Happy New Year too! I
did also, not too long ago, add the 2023
meeting dates on the relevant web pages for BerkeleyLUG and
Pi.BerkelelyLUG meetings.

Oh you are right.  I'll scope it out tomorrow and let you know.  

Sorry about the Pi meeting.  I was online with Alan Tong for a bit and then relocated to another cafe.  

I popped in for a sec in the other place but didn't notice you there.

Yes, definitely closed.  

They have a temporary spot in the building across College Ave.  But sadly not open today.  

The closed location has tables removed.  There is no barrier to sitting on the benches.  The outlets 

are turned off but the WiFI is still good  

So I'll be there anyways because it is my holiday tradition.  I am gonna have to make my own 

coffee and make sure my laptop is charged.  You are welcome to join me for "off the grid Linux" 

I have external battery power for USB C  So I can provide that if your laptop takes USB C.  

I'll see you online in any case.

Zellerbach plaza (between Zellerbach Hall and the ASCU student union building).

It's basically a bit NW of corner of Telegraph and Bancroft - on the W side of the building near that corner.
