Sorry I missed the meeting. I hope all went well.

I've been working to use a raspberry pi with a touchscreen as a chording keyset keyboard. The demo works. I thought of using usb-otg to connect them but my pi doesn't support it. The last piece will instead connect over the network via usb-ip built into the linux kernel via the PythonUSBIP library.

A wrinkle that changed for me is that the debian and ubuntu usbip packages used to work but now are too old. The source is in the linux kernel but by default they aren't compiled. So that's a manual step each time the kernel version changes.

I plan to 3d print a stand at a good angle for using the pi touchscreen in this way.

Hey Grant, 

Nice to hear from you. Shame you didn't make it this time. We had a good group but there was plenty of space for more people. 

Your project is very interesting. I would like to see it. Maybe you can make it to the next meeting in August. 

Also consider the SF Pi Meetup. It is every other month first Tuesday at Google launch pad in downtown. I think the next one is September. Maybe you can present your project. 

Anyways I'm still trying to learn Arduino. But it is taking me a while. Haven't tried any programming in like 20 years but it is coming back to me. Similar to C I think.

I've just been thinking about what you said about otg not working on your Pi. 

The Pi zero is supposed to have it but have not tried it myself. 

But I have found some information that the A and A+ models can do gadget or peripheral mode. I.e. even though it can't change mode on the fly, aka otg. It can set mode on boot.
