Hi,

I tried installing THERM 7.8.80 and WINDOW 7.8.80.
I installed the two redistributable packages.
I tried running both in admin mode and not.

I keep getting Application Error 0xc000007b.
Help?

Sorry for the problems you are having.  We've had a small number of users recently who have been having what sounds like a similar problem.  We're not quite sure why at the moment but do have a couple things to try.

First could you please verify that you have installed the x86 version of the libraries installed.  Even though your computer/OS is probably 64bit the applications are 32bit and require the x86 version.

If you have the x86 versions installed and it still doesn't work, you can try to copy the required DLLs into the directory with the THERM7.exe  The downside is I'm not 100% sure about which files are needed.  It's at least libmmd.dll, svml_dispmd.dll, and libifcoremd.dll but I don't remember if there are others too.  So a safe thing to try first would be to copy all of the dlls in

C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Intel\Shared Libraries\redist\ia32_win\compiler

To

C:\Program Files (x86)\LBNL\THERM7.8

And then see if THERM runs.  If it does work you'll need to do the same with WINDOW if you want to use it as well.

Let us know if that works for you or not.

I figured it out. Maybe it will help someone else out.

I had a newer version of the intel fortran compiler installed. When I tried installing the version noted on the lbnl website (2023.1/2021.9), the installer went through the motion without errors or noting that it hadn't installed the older version.

So I uninstalled the newer version, and installed the older version, and everything seems to be working now.

Sebastian

Yes, that can definitely happen, ie, that you already have a version of those libraries, and so the one THERM and WINDOW needs doesn't get installed.

Thank you for the feedback so that others may also benefit from your experience.

Once again, apologies for having to go through this step. It is because the licensing of these libraries is not compatible with the licensing at LBNL, so you, the user, need to accept the licenses by installing them.

It's really too bad users have to deal with this. Sigh ...
