About to change fuel filters on my 2010 B40. I cannot find the small priming pump to bleed air out of the system that shows in the engine manual and understand these engines may be self-priming. Anyone have experience with this?  Engine is 54HP Yanmar 4JH4AE.

The bottom of the filter housing there is a button that is spring loaded. Push it several times to prime.

In my yanmar 4jh4e the priming lever is at the lower strarboard side of the engine, at the c- pump, close to starter engine.
IMHO virtually useless if you really happened to emty the fuel circuit. I solved by putting a 30micron fuel filter WITH PRIMING PUMP just out of the fuel tank.

Attached is a picture from my 2008 B40 with the same engine as yours. Notice the pump on top of the filter. Strange that yours is different. I changed both primary and secondary last year and just filled both new filters with fuel before starting. I don't recall even having to use the pump to bleed before starting the motor.

Agreed. Strange it’s different. Yours is like the manual.

one thing I have realized with these Beneteaus is that no two seem to be built exactly the same

You are right, that is why anytime I have had any dealing with Beneteau they want to know the Hull number.
