Hello:

I am missing one of the latches for my cockpit locker.  Anyone know were I could pick up a replacement?  See attached pic.

At a BENETEAU dealer. One used to be able to order directly from BENETEAU however it worked too well and they changed it.

I just recently got some new interior push button latches from Beneteau USA. They were amazing cheap. $3.50 each. You need to work through a dealer to make this happen. Here is a direct quote from a previous post:

"John at Annapolis Yacht Sales runs the parts department and he's great to deal with.  I'm all set up with a "new" login to the Beneteau site which directs the purchase paperwork right to AYS and parts orders flow smoothly.  You can even keep a card on file with AYS and the parts will get drop shipped right to you."

I did the same and agree John was great to work with. He from my home state of Michigan as well! I didn't even bother with my local dealer. Took less than a week to get my parts from start to finish. I also now have access to the Beneteau site again and the schematics.

There are two types of latches :

The type you have which is only available via the dealer network these days and the other type : http://www.marinepartdepot.com/new316ststlo1.html

Do Beneteau dealers have to respect each others’ territories? For parts or otherwise? Or more to the point, can AYS supply parts for someone in Texas?

When I needed to replace a window (fortunately just before Bene turned off parts access for end-users), I first tried area dealers, and no one would as much as return a call or email for a parts question. Maybe things are different now that Bene directs people to dealers for parts—but I wouldn’t bet on it.

Thanks!

Short answer no. I am in Texas tried to get a part ordered through a Texas dealer they were not cooperating. I contacted Ward at Beneteau, he arranged the order through a dealer in Louisiana.

I believe you can order from any dealer, however in my experience parts are low dollar margin parts for the dealer and many would rather sell you a new boat than a $20 part.  I have been very disappointed personally in this arrangement

YMMV

To all...

For Beneteau parts try  Annapolis Yacht Sales - www.annapolisyachtsales.com.  They have access to a Beneteau online parts system and have gotten me some odd parts in the past.  They will usually want your make, year and hull number.  John in parts is super helpful!

Has anybody tried any of the Canadian dealers?  I need a few parts for my 1995 M405.  I was lucky and got an order in last fall before they cut us off?

We installed on on a Occeanis 381 a few years ago

I had the yard do the fiberglass work and actual install. They also had to cut out the forward water tank and reglass in the back part of it (to make a smaller tank).  I reworked the interior bunk supports, installed the battery (up front near the bow-thruster, reduced the cable lengths) and I installed the helm controls, dc-dc charger and all wiring

My B 49 came from factory with a thruster. It really is useless.
I wouldn't go through all the trouble and expense.

Our marina fairway was very tight, prop walk was almost non existent and the boat was too broad and beamy to spring well.  We used ours when exiting the slip (only)

We have a bow thruster on our Oceanis 45, and it's invaluable for pulling into our slip.  We have about 10 feet of clearance in the alley, and we have to pivot carefully and then back in.  The bow thruster makes that possible, especially in cross winds.

Out of curiosity, what prop do you use? My 343 has crazy prop walk. Backing  into my slip with the dock finger to port is great, as it walks almost a full 90 degrees before you get moving. Problem is on windy days I have to bow in, and if I have too much speed and use reverse at all I walk off the finger towards the boat next to me.

Makes perfect sense.

I know my limitations, if I have certain doubts, I will not attempt to move into certain tight spots.

We have a Gori 3 blade on our 473.  It does have some prop walk to port but manageable.

After 2 years of owning the boat we are installing the thruster.  Our slip is about 1’ wider than the boat.  We are both 69 and find that if it is just the 2 of us and a cross wind we won’t go out.

I have purchase the thruster and will be installing this off season.  I am most curious about the inner skin construction, how it is adhered to the hull.  I know I will have to remove it to epoxy the tube to the hull.

Jim, we have a bow thruster on our 473 and I wouldn't go back to a boat without one.  I grew up sailing and racing small to very large sailboats in Long Island sound.  Slips are getting narrower and boats are getting beamier.

Would love to hear your experience with your Gori.  What year is your 473?  Also, would love to know your engine and prop size.  Thanks

Cheers,

Patrick

These threads relate to the BT install and electrical system changes I made that year of which the bow thruster was part

I could only found 2 photos on my phone - uploaded to Google Drive here.  https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1_-VoDJqzGfApvNY-rswCJSKS4NmIHVlL?usp=sharing

One ofs the remote battery installed on top of the forward water tank immediately aft of the bow thruster. It's AGM so does not need to be in a battery case. The second is the BT master cut off switch installed in the vanity cabinet about 12" away from the battery
