Hi all, I have a 2006 343 with two blue poly water tanks. The tanks have the round 140mm red lids, inspection ports, with the cross on them. Both lids are cracked allowing the tanks to leak.

Has anyone been able to get new ones? Any substitutes? Anyone know if they are listed on the current parts list? They appear to be made in France.

Thanks,
Rick

How did they crack?

Yes, I was able to obtain new lids from the manufacturer in France.  They admitted that there was a manufacturing defect and sent two replacements, free of charge (several years ago).  The manufacturer's  name was stamped inside the lid.  If you have problems locating their info,  let me know and I will see if I can find the address.

Thanks Big Easy, I was able to find their information on the internet, did not think they would be able to help.
Great to see they sent some new ones to the US!

Ironically,  The defective lids were installed on my 2006 Ben 343, also.  When I contacted them, I simply wanted to purchase a replacement.  They admitted the manufacturing defect and sent the new ones free of charge.  That is a good company!

I have a 41.1 with two tanks, and both lids cracked. I made them with a 3D printer, both working OK.

Let me ask, it was a friend who made them.

I had the same problem on my 2006 Oceanus 373.

Check your septic tank. I had the same issue there. I purchased three of them from Beneteau USA spare parts.

Update on water tank lids. I tried to contact the manufacturer in France, no luck.

I got up with John at Clarks Landing (who is very helpful) and got set up on the spare parts site.

Per above, yes there is one on my holding tank.  I ordered four lids, about $34 each.

The plastic feels a little different than the originals (still red), dated 08" hope they will hold up better.

I may have to call John. I have one I can't get open. May have to cut it open. Does anyone have a trick other than brute force?

I used crossed screwdrivers (large ones) ---bit stiff to start but got them ultimately. A little vaseline when reinstalling...and no need to overtighten.

you could also make something up out of 3/4" pine boards and round the ends off on a sander/router to make a "key' to grip the lid

I use the end of a 10'" piece of oak flooring held by a vice grip to get the water tanks open, still trying to get the holding tank open.

Apply a little heat to the tank (not the cap, and please dont melt the tank) and it helps a lot with removal. Use super lube food grade silicon o-ring grease and dont over tighten.

I’ve used some liquid soap like Dawn. Dribble it around the cap edge and give it about 15-20 minutes before trying again.
