Beneteau and Jeanneau, for that matter, seem to cycle between this position that we should work through dealers for parts and then give up after a while when it becomes clear that dealers have little interest in serving an owner with a 20 year old boat.
I think what’s really behind this is at the annual dealers meeting Beneteau complains that the dealers aren’t selling enough boats and the dealers shoot back that Beneteau is allowing owners to bypass the dealers - if only you forced owners to work through us we’d sell more boats. That whole line is BS and a cop out.
When this same happened a few years ago at Jeanneau I called the head of Jeanneau America and gave several examples of how dealers failed to help me get parts. End result - I got special access to the parts website.
I think now it’s even easier - go to the Beneteau Facebook page and start providing examples of how dealers are not responding to parts requests and how you’d never buy a Beneteau again. Within a few weeks you’ll have access to the parts website again
