Hi All,
any tips/experience on replacement of  side port light.
It started leaking, window has to be removed,.
Do I have to remove the gray caulking around the window?.
Any advice on type of caulking to be used?
Would use of butyl tape be proper application, to attach lens to the hull.
Thank you,
John

Hi John.   I broke our side port light and Beneteau suggested the following.

Products used here at the factory for this type of fixed window installation:

Part    : 180338           Descrip.: PRIMER BETASEAL 207 SIKA, in stock, $41.76 each

Part    : 234250           Descrip.: ADHESIVE PU BLACK, in stock, $25.87 each

I used one of these  Inline imagewith a blade without teeth.
eventually I got enough of a gap that I could begin to pry.  Another option is to break the glass then pass a very thin wire between the hull land port light and then sort of saw around the port light.  It is important to get all of the old adhesive off before replacing the window.
Good luck.

Timothy
