Apply pushmeta to accounts

I notice that the largely undocumented "pushmeta" directive works well for

transactions. However, I'd like to also apply it to accounts - for example, to add fava specific metadata:

pushmeta fava-uptodate-indication: TRUE
2021-07-17 open Assets:Cash NZD
2021-07-17 open Liabilities:Mortgage NZD
popmeta fava-uptodate-indication:

This doesn't appear to work for me. Should this be possible?
