Hello, Seems like beancount_share plugin worked well with Beancount v2 but isn't compatible with Beancount_v3? What are the options to track shared expenses on Beancount v3?

Thanks,
Ghanashyam

I just do the allocation manually. Not a satisfying answer, but how many keystrokes is this plug-in saving you?

(Also, minor nit, but do y'all use debtors/creditors or receivables/payables?)

Are there any examples on this? Looking to have something like a Splitwise workflow to track who owes how much to whom for a shared expense.

yes, has some limitations..
  • always splits amongst all group members, can't specify to split expense amongst say 2 out of 3 members
  • doesn't support splitting unevenly

Hi,

I still use beancount_share (https://github.com/Akuukis/beancount_share) with Beancount v3, didn't notice any problems on switching. What are the issues you're experiencing?
Another alternative I know of is https://github.com/SEIAROTg/autobean/tree/master/autobean/share which seems interesting but a little complicated at first glance so I didn't get to try it properly yet.

Best regards,
Vasily
