Hi,

Has anyone built a more generalized CSV importer yet? I've followed the examples and started writing my own but realized something more generic would be beneficial and wanted to see what is out there and if I can adapt for my needs.

Note, I'm currently working through 2 banks that do not offer any OFX files. I'm trying to mirror what Reds did here where you can define the following in the config file:

        'main_account'   : 'Assets:US:Investments:Non-Retirement:Brokerage:Vanguard',

        'account_number' : '123456',

        'transfer'       : 'Assets:Zero-Sum-Accounts:Transfers:Bank-Account',

        'dividends'      : 'Income:Taxable:Dividends:Brokerage',

        'cg'             : 'Income:Taxable:Capital-Gains:Brokerage',

        'fees'           : 'Expenses:Brokerage-Fees:Brokerage',

        'rounding_error' : 'Equity:Rounding-Errors:Imports',

        'fund_info'       : fund_info,

For CSVs from banks/credit card there are common types I was thinking of handling in the import process

1) interest/dividends

2) fees

3) mortgage/line of credit etc

Is it worth trying to write this in the the CSV importer and doing it a generic way? Or just is it not worth the effort and either use smart importer capability or manual assignment?

thanks,

Jonathan
