Hello beancounters,

I seem to be having issues with bean-price [beancount file] --update

An example error I get is:
ERROR   : Error fetching GOOG: Expecting value: line 1 column 1 (char 0)
ERROR   : Could not fetch for job: DatedPrice(base='GOOG', quote='USD', date=datetime.date(2025, 2, 27), sources=[PriceSource(module=<module 'beanprice.sources.yahoo' from '/home/user/.local/lib/python3.10/site-packages/beanprice/sources/yahoo.py'>, symbol='GOOG', invert=False)])

However, bean-price [beancount file] works fine.

Anyone else encountering the same issue?

Yes, I get the same error.

I've tried --update a few times and it has never worked for me, though I don't recall if it was always that same error or something else.

Looks like the same issue discussed here:

Yes, I get the same error. It seems related to DatedPrice specifically. When I try to get the price manually at a specific date for a commodity, I get the same error. See below for minimal example:

bean-price -e USD:yahoo/ETH-USD --date 2025-04-03

ERROR   : Error fetching ETH-USD: Expecting value: line 1 column 1 (char 0)
ERROR   : Could not fetch for job: DatedPrice(base='ETH-USD', quote='USD', date=datetime.date(2025, 4, 3), sources=[PriceSource(module=<module 'beanprice.sources.yahoo' from 'C:\\Users\\William Bean\\AppData\\Roaming\\Python\\Python311\\site-packages\\beanprice\\sources\\yahoo.py'>, symbol='ETH-USD', invert=False)])

I'm opening an Issue in GitHub for it.
