Rotatory encoders

For getting the position of my rotatory encoders path given on a github  library(https://github.com/Teknoman117/beaglebot/tree/master/encoders) is :

"/sys/devices/ocp.2/48302000.epwmss/48302180.eqep"

but in my beaglebone there is no such path and i can rahter access this file using this path

"/sys/devices/platform/ocp/48304000.epwmss/48304180.eqep"

in this directory there is no file named "position"

So plz suggest me how get the position

the files and directory i m getting in this path is 

driver_override   modalias   of_node   power   subsystem   uevent
