Using the debug serial port

I thought I would see more information when hooked up to the debug serial port as in all the loading of software etc. 

Instead it just showed me the same prompt you get from putty. 

Is this wrong? 

Is there a way to get more information to show?

No that is normal, once you get to the "login" both are the same..
But hit the reset button, over the usart j1 connector you will see
u-boot load the kernel, which you can't see over ssh..
