I've just updated my instructions for building a kernel for the bone[1].  I see that it created version=4.4.15-bone11.

How do I build a 'ti' version like I'm currently running?

bone$ uname -a
Linux yoder-debian-bone 4.4.14-ti-r34 #1 SMP Wed Jul 6 05:33:33 UTC 2016 armv7l GNU/Linux

Sadly, the repo for building "ti" kernel's is not "build-reproducible", due to the way i combine two working git branches...

Instead have you students/directions look to "yakbuild"

Follow the readme.md and set:

toolchain="gcc_linaro_gnueabihf_5"
kernel_tag="4.4.14-ti-r34"

then, just:

./build_kernel.sh / etc like previously..

Regards,
