Hi all I am very new to Beaglebone Green and I am trying to create a project using the following sensor: http://www.ifm.com/products/us/ds/O6H305.htm
I'm wondering if it would be more useful to also invest in a cape, any suggestions on best approach?

Hello Anna,

What exactly is it that you think a cape will offer you instead of using the sensor you linked to ? I mean technically, a sensor, and a cape solve two completely different problems, but I think I can see where you're coming from. Also , just looking( glancing ) at the sensor you linked to. It's not clear what kind of output is expect to come out of that. ADC ? GPIO ? Something else ? Looks like it could possibly even be multiple sensors rolled into one.
