Capturing Bluetooth Advertisement Data on BB

Hi,

How can we get Advertisement Data and Scan response data of near by bluetooth device when Beagle bone act as central device. Also, Is it possible to detect error packets or packet loss in the packets sent by the Bluetooth near by device under test.

Can someone point me to the utilities or packages that can be used to achieve this.
