Hi,

So my BBB recently arrived and I plugged it in for the first time today. When I connected the USB cable as expected the FAT partition popped up and I followed the instructions and clicked on the start.htm (opened in chrome).

I got to the screen below and continued to install the drivers (which involved having to enable driver signature enforcement) So apparently the drivers installed successfully and I tried to connect to the BBB through the web browser but I got the "error connection timed out".

So I read around for some hours to identify the problem and then I read that on the connection of the BBB and successful installation of drivers the "Step 1 and Step 2" should go green - which mine did not. Anyway I tried several things - but no fix. Interestingly when I connected it to my friends machine which runs ubuntu the "Step 1: Plug in Beaglebone via USB" went green so more progress than I had on my machine.

Can anybody suggest any potential fixes? I am using windows 10 and fear the issue is with that rather than the board. One interesting observation is that my guide says the FAT partition should contain a "MLO, u-boot.img and uEnv.txt" file. My device only seems to have the uEnv.txt and not the other files.

Any help is greatly appreciated!!

MLO/u-boot.img are hidden on purpose, as new users had a tendency to delete them..  (thus soft-bricking the bbb till they relfash)
