What is the difference between these two devices?

  • BBBW-SC-562-ND
  • BBBW-SC-562

I'm looking to buy a BeagleBone with both WiFi and HDMI capability.

"-ND" is digikey's part "branding"...

it's the same part, would come from the exact same bin, just two names...

I've wondered about that for years. Always thought I'd eventually find a non -ND part.

At one time, in the 70's, there was a few "discountable" parts... ;)

As the legend goes ...

ND originally stood for "No Discount".
Digikey started out as a parts company selling parts kits to ham radio operators for digital (Morse code) keyers.
They later decided to get serious about selling parts to commercial users, which were of original manufacturer supply and no longer discounted.

I wonder how many barrels of ink have been used putting -ND after every part number, today.
