The TIghtVNC GRAY screen

Everything seems to be installed right. Running Linux beagle bone 4.14.71-ti-r80 on an Element 14 board.

TightVNC viewer logs into xxx.xxx.xxx:1 asks for the password which I give it.

I am going through a network via WiFi,

get the bottom menu bar and can interact with it but I do not see the

File Manager or any terminal windows.

All I see is a gray screen. Help?
