CAN not working moving from Debian 9 to 10.3 Iot version

I have a program written in c that uses CAN and I've been able to navigate the changes in Debian versions so far. But my CAN has stopped working with the new Debian 10.3 IoT version. Anyone have a clue about this? It would be good to know what changes are needed to migrate from ver 9 to 10.
