Compiling C/C++ projects located in ~/ folder from Cloud9

What changes in Cloud9 configuration need to be done to be able compile, run and debug C/C++ projects located in the user 's home folder ( i.e. /home/debian)? By default Cloud9 doing all things from its own folder.
