I use Linux Mint desktop PC for development large script in Perl/Tk for Raspberry. To simplify the process I want to install bcm2835 library to this PC but when I tried to install BCM2835 library from http://www.airspayce.com/mikem/bcm2835/ then "make" crash with error. Because I have not bcm2835 library installed, then I cannot to install Device::BCM2835 Perl module.

Anybody have an idea how to install bcm2835 SW on HW without Broadcom BCM 2835 chip?

Hi Petr,

You can not use the default make install on a non-Broadcom BCM2835 SoC platform.
When working in a cross-compile environment, then you need to make your install make file.

Or for example, when using the Eclipse environment, then create a C project with the cross-compile template.

Hi Arjan,

thanks for response. I never time create my own make file :( Can you please show me how to do it, or what to comment out in original file, or to direct me somewhere where I can learn it? I am more a Perl programmer then a Linux power user. :)

Petr
