Hi and good day,

Looking for an explanation why "Canonize" file would do something (change letters, symbols) it is not supposed to 'do'.

I'm using a custom Canonize-file and now the dash ( - ) is converted into – which is uncalled for.

What could be the reason for this?

Since Canonize performs only the substitutions listed in the file you
specify, then either:

- your Canon data file includes a conversion of en-dash (–) to its
character entity, or

- you performed the conversion elsewise, using a different process.

OK, I found it: It happened earlier in the process - in the conversion of the MD document to HTML (with Marked 2).

Good to know,

thank you.
