Hi,
New to group and BBEdit.
I need to find and replace a line return with \\ plus a line return i.e.
\r with \\\r
but it doesn't work.
I'm guessing this is because they are special characters.
Can anyone help please?
Thanks

Did you check the "Grep" checkbox in the "Find" window ?

Find: \r
Replace: \\\\\r

seems to do what you are looking for.

Excellent - it is indeed!
Thank you very much Kerri.
I won't ask how the engine works  - I'll just keep driving!
Thanks again.
Is there some way of marking the question as answered or closed - I wouldn't like to fall foul of protocol.

In case you ever need to manipulate such characters again, please see the section titled "Special Characters" in Chapter 7 of the included PDF manual (which you can open at any time via Help -> User Manual).
