Inserting line number in front of lines of text

I need to insert the line number in front of each line of text (each line ends with a return).
Is there a way to do it in BBEdit? (Most lines are too long to do it in Excel).

I suggest you start with Text -> Add/Remove Line Numbers and see if that does what you need.
