New Language definition inion by merging two?

Is it possible to merge two language definitions to get a new one?

I am using Critic Markup (https://github.com/CriticMarkup/CriticMarkup-toolkit) in a markdown document, and would like to have the markdown as well as the Critic Markdown syntax highlighting?
