balance with/without delimiters

There is an expert preference for including/excluding delimiters when balancing expressions.

Though I am able to change the preference using the suggested

defaults write com.barebones.bbedit BalanceIncludesDelimiters -bool YES

or the variant with NO, and checking with "defaults read...", the behavior in BBEdit does seem to change (even after quitting and reopening it).

Any clues?
