I have been using TextWrangler on my Mac for one specific task. I cannot figure out how to get BBEdit to do it.  Can you help?
The task:  I want to turn the file icon into a URL.  Anybody from Mac or Windows can click on the file icon and it will open up a webpage.
I have attached a sample icon from TextEdit that does this.  How do I create a file in BBEdit to accomplish the same task?
Thank!

I’m not sure what you are asking. I don’t know what you mean by a “file icon”.

What steps did you take to get the desired result in TextEdit?

Are you trying to create .url files? If so, you can easily do this in BBEdit: Create a new text file, type:

[InternetShortcut]
URL=the url you want a shortcut to

And save the files with a .url extension.

BBEdit will prompt you to confirm that you want to save the file with a non-standard extension. Tell it Use .url.

For example, I just created example.url in BBEdit with these contents:

[InternetShortcut]
URL=https://example.com/

When double-clicked, it opens example.com in my default browser (Firefox).

The file is attached. Hope this helps.
