Dear Devotees of the Bay Area Sanga,

Please accept my dandavat pranams. All glories to Sri Sri Guru & Gauranga! All glories to Sri Sri Radha Govinda!

This Friday, Oct. 30th, is a very auspicious day, the beginning of kartika month, Rasa Purnima, Krsna Rasayatra and the divine disappearance day of Srila Bhakti Prajana Kesava Maharaja. On this beautiful autumn night in Vrindavana during Sri Krsna's pastimes on Earth, the full moon shone with all its fullness stimulating Krsna's desire for meeting with the young gopis of Vraja. He had promised the young girls one year earlier, after they completed the Katyayani vrata, that He would meet with them. Now the time had come.  Sri Krsna played on His flute and called all the gopis from their homes into the forest to enjoy the rasa lila dance with Him, the best of all pastimes to fulfill their innermost desires. 

 

Sri rasa-mandala jaya, Jaya Radha-Syama, Jaya jaya Rasa-lila sarva manorama. Radha-Krsna's rasa-lila dance is enchanting everyone in the universe and anyone who hears about it with faith is cured of material lust.

çraddhänvito 'nuçåëuyäd atha varëayed yaù
bhaktià paräà bhagavati pratilabhya kämaà
håd-rogam äçv apahinoty acireëa dhéraù  (S.B. 10.33.39)

Anyone who faithfully hears or describes the Lord's playful affairs with the young gopis of Vrindavana will attain the Lord's pure devotional service. Thus he will quickly become sober and conquer lust, the disease of the heart.

 

Please join us in celebrating this holy day in the association of devotees as an auspicious beginning of Niyama-seva, Srimati Radharani's month of Kartik.

"Goswamis have said If someone doesn't worship the lotus feet of Radharani or the dust at Her feet or Vrajabhumi that has been purified by the footsteps of Radharani (in other words, if someone doesn't serve Radharani), he cannot inundate himself in Shyam-sindhu. Shyamasundar is like an ocean; sadhu means ocean. That means he cannot be liked by Shyam.
