Dear Mark:
Many of the FAPA Forum members here might not be aware of that, after thorough and serious research, this topic has been sufficiently discussed in the BATA Forum, in order to discover the truth (Please refer to one of our discussions below).
The question is:
1) Do you prefer to lead your audiences to trust the conclusion from these four major UK libraries: Senate House Library, London School of Economics Library, Institute of Advanced Legal Studies library, and British Library, in which they all state they do not have the thesis in their collections and no digitized version is known to exist. Or,
2) Do you prefer to lead your audiences to trust the content of a single page image (and in Chinese too) below?
Thanks;

The latest update on my search for Tsai Ing-wen's thesis:
First off, I have never been so insulted with vulgarity and varied insults from the internet in all the years I have been writing about Taiwan as has been directed at me in the last 72 hours. I presume most of the insults are from political trolls.
Secondly, never before have I been so misread by so many as I have been accused of making a wide variety of defamatory writing about Tsai that I never wrote.
Third, four libraries (Senate House Library, London School of Economics Library, Institute of Advanced Legal Studies library, and British Library) all state they do not have the thesis in their collections and no digitized version is known to exist.
Lastly, the British Library, which Tsai supporters used to silence the June inquiry into the matter when the issue of the missing thesis first surfaced, has now sent me an unsettling suggestion that Tsai herself restricted access to the thesis. I quote directly from the Customer Service branch of the British Library.

Dear Michael,
Thank you for your feedback.
All theses are supplied via our Ethos service. When I checked the Ethos webpage for the thesis in question I got the following response. It would appear the author has put a block on the thesis (restricted access). You would need to contact the London School of Economics & Political Science for further information.

Yes, for this, Allen is probably right. Tsai might come out and explain. That might be one way to show her degree.
Yes, you have many thing to 怕. Think it carefully. With Allen’s dirty mind and sinister intention, would Allen be satisfied with her explanation if she explain anything? Even if she explain and show her thesis, does Allen or do you believe Tsai that it is her thesis?
And why should Tsai do so to satisfy the stupid question? If you really have a question on her degree, you should just ask LSE directly. Her degree and thesis was listed in LSE, it is only “missing” (stolen by some Chinese?), that clearly means it existed, and if it existed, she certainly received her PhD degree. Period. Is this clear to your atama?
But, that is one bad apple, you cannot generalize one bad apple to all the honest students in LSE. Just like one stupid posting cannot generalize to all the people in your BATA. Do you agree? By the way, I don’t have time to check that 賣過博士學位, It may be a false report, or biased sensational report. At least, so far as I can see, it didn’t hurt LSE reputation of one of the best universities in the world.
No, not at all. Tsai’s PhD thesis was respectfully posted in Google Scholars, US Congress WorldCat, English Senate Library, etc. it shows LSE degree is admitted and respected by the whole world (nice to be a student of a prestigious university).
No. One bad apple does not negate that LSE is the world class institute of higher education. Are you talking about yourself? With your kind of atama, how can people trust you as editor???
蔡英文似乎也從來就沒有指導教授, that is your sinister speculation. If there is no 指導教授 to approve the thesis, she could not graduate, and there should have no “missing” of her thesis. If you have doubt, you should ask LSE. With your kind of education, you don’t know how the higher education operates. Shame on you.
Well, 遍尋不著 does not mean it does not exist. The correct word is “missing” in the library, it means somebody stole it, or displace it, or destroy it,from the library. But all these reasons just indicate there was a thesis by Tsai, and she did graduated from LSE.
For your atama, it is 天經地義的事. But why should she? I repeat, LSE is world class higher institute, if you have any question, you should ask directly to LSE, not Tsai.
I repeat again. Even if Tsai shows you her thesis, do you believe it is her true thesis? You are very stupid to ask her to show her thesis. And then, where will it end? Are you going to ask her how could she be accepted to teach in Chengda, or got promoted? With your sinister mind, showing her own thesis will not prove anything at all. It will raise more questions, more pointings. If you really interested in, just ask LSE (or Chengda), not Tsai, since even Tsai answered your question, you would never EVER believe her. She is completely correct not to answer your stupid questions.
Here, you are confusing two thing. One, whether she wrote the thesis and received the PhD degree, one is you are questioning her even if she received her degree, whether she really wrote it.
Both are irrelevant and stupid. First one, I already said missing does not mean there is no thesis. She did received her PhD degree and submitted her thesis to the University and received her degree. That why it is “missing.” There is no question to ask.
The second question is also stupid. Whether she wrote it or not, you should ask the thesis committee members, not Tsai. If the committee members passed the PhD oral examination and granted her a degree, that was the committee’s responsibility. 買來 or not 買來, that was the committee’s and the university’s responsibility to check, none of your business. If you have questions, you should ask the committee members or the university, not Tsai.
A people like you already 下重手, you don’t need to wait until 國民黨.In fact, 國民黨 may not as bad as your 重手.
No, not at all. Your 重手 will make 綠營全軍覆沒.
You should appreciate that your president has the PhD from one of the most prestigious institute of higher education!! Your stupid questions made her more respected and showed her great achievement when she was young.
She is a very proud person. You are asking her wrong questions to a wrong person. She is not obliged to answer your sinister questions at all. As a so called “editor,” you should have better atama and do better.

Hi Mark:
Unfortunately the first photo you provided (the TIW’s diploma) is a fraudulent document.
Based on the following list from Wiki, during 1981–1985 the Vice-Chancellors of the University of London was “Sir Randolph Quirk”. Does the signature from this first photo your provided (the TIW’s diploma) look like “Randolph Quirk”?
If you also compare carefully, the signature from this fraudulent diploma was actually by the recent Vice-Chancellors of 2012–2018, Prof Sir Adrian Smith FRS.
Dennis Peng was the one who uncovered this TIW’s diplomatic fraud a couple days ago. He also provided a legitimate diploma below, for comparison.
Regardless who was the one who provided these fraudulent pictures at the first place and what was his/her incentive, he is actually hurting TIW’s academic reputation, and NOT helping.

This fraudulent picture was first introduced by the legislator Wang Ding Yu (王定宇) as I know. The funny and the sad at the same time behind this picture is that many FAPA past chairmen, which include Chung-Chih Li (李中志) and Mark Kao (高榮龍) grab and distributed it in public immediately, like a lifebuoy that has been found on a sinking boat. Which means they are also in panic under this potential huge scandal (the TIW’s diploma and PhD thesis). And I don’t know why -- assuming that there is absolutely no fraud involved?
I heard Dennis Pang is planning to dig into these two issues further in the near future. Please stay tuned.

Which means they are also in panic under this potential huge scandal (the TIW’s diploma and PhD thesis). And I don’t know why -- assuming that there is absolutely no fraud involved?
I heard Dennis Pang is planning to dig into these two issues further in the near future. Please stay tuned.

very suspicious! How can the Vice Chancellor of 2018 be the same one as 1984?! Obviously a forgery.

Or,
