Season update and next Fleet Race --Plastic Classic

Greetings Bay Area O25 Fleet,

I hope you all enjoyed watching the R2AK and the 4 Olson 25s duke it out. Congrats to all racers and finishers! Congrats especially to our local team Sea Peas (Clean Sweep) on an incredible race.  As Steve mentioned, we can't wait to hear the stories!

After a long June break we're back into fleet racing next Saturday the 11th for the Plastic Classic.

We are now half way through the regular season not including Nationals with 5 race days down and 5 ahead. JP from Shadowfax was kind enough to tabulate the mid-season standings which I've attached here:

Shadowfax close behind in second,

and Synchronicity is in third.

Hi All,

Big congrats to #68 Synchronicity for winning first overall IN THE ENTIRE REGATTA at the Plastic Classic yesterday. They lead the very hotly contested Olson 25 division start to finish, and we placed three boats in the top 10. Nice work everyone and big thanks to Nick (the BVBC race chair) and the BVBC team for putting on such a great event!

(Mercifully the seemingly intoxicated Santana 22 that almost caused a collision on our starting line Shadowfax had to evade, then forced Synchronicity into evasive maneuvers in the last upwind, and eventually hit the winner of the non-spin division did not end up impacting out results. Eek)

Attached are the season standings following big turnout yesterday. Things are looking pretty tight with four races left in the season. We've also hit a milestone of 10 participating boats so far this year which is amazing, especially considering Thaddeus and/or Bill are yet to join one this year. Hoping for 12?
