Good Night Guys I'm new to the group wanted a help.

I have a project on backing up by users who have a database, but the client is external, I've already made all the releases through the firewall or getting them when connecting with the normal client, but when backing up it takes a long time. after the mistake
Has anyone had this problem?

BRAZIL

Remember that in default installation the bareos director reaches to the fd to initiate the backup job but then the fd connects to sd to send the backup data. If you don't allow for incoming connections (which is understandable in case of i.e. DMZ-located clients), you need to use passive clients. https://docs.bareos.org/TasksAndConcepts/NetworkSetup.html#passive-clients

Milton,

If you are using the python filedeamon plugin as described here:
https://docs.bareos.org/Appendix/Howtos.html#backup-mysql-python

I have also found it to be very slow but my databases are small and continue using it. It feels like it should be faster and I’m not sure how to tune or anything.

If you want faster and have the disk space doing something like the make_catalog_backup script, which uses a pre-job script to run the dump command to local disk, and then have a file-set backup that single file like normal. I also use this and it’s much faster, but it’s more complex to pull apart databases as I do a dump of all the databases and schemas into one file.
