Winows backup via VSS

Hi guys

So i am trying to set up a test system for backup(winows server, windows desktops and a few Linux clients) with Bareos to see how it works for us, using the Community version atm for testing

I had a Q about windows backups, it seems Bareos can use VSS for windows backups, can it save these snapshots as separate files(so they are accessible not only by bareos system but even by the VSS tools) or does it use some sort of container(volume or something) to save these in as Bacula does??
