Back up Synology NAS -> Bareos - best practices?

Hi,

We want to make a complete backup of our Synology NAS by using Bareos. The two options (please add more if I've left out any!) I can think of are:

1. Installing bareos-fd directly on the NAS
2. Installing bareos-fd in a docker container.
   

I am aware that if I go for option 1, bareos-fd breaks/disappears when DSM gets updated, but reinstalling it should be a quick/easy process, given that most of the config is stored in bareos-dir, right?


Any thoughts or recommendations here?
