Heyho Bareos Admins

Got anybody FileDaemon Encryption (before sending to Storage) working with the new subdirectory structure? It's not working here:

bareos-fd[1938066]: 20-Apr 13:41 vm-mumble-test-01-fd: ERROR in filed/filed.cc:205 Please correct configuration file: /etc/bareos/bareos-fd.d/*/*.conf
bareos-fd[1938066]: Only one Client resource permitted in /etc/bareos/bareos-fd.d/*/*.conf

I am trying to setup the Bareos Encryption on FileDaemon level, but it only works when I create /etc/bareos/bareos-fd.conf with Director {}, FileDaemon {}, Messages {}, configured, so all the configuration in one file. But since bareos 16+ we've the subfolder structure which i would like to use. But in which subdirectory+subfile can i place this encryption configuration?

I tried to add the Encryption Configuration FileDaemon {} in myself.conf = not working. (error msg above)
I tried to add the Encryption Configuration FileDaemon {} to a new file in new folder /etc/bareos/bareos-fd.d/daemon/encryption.conf = not working. (error msg above)

Please help :o)

The content of /etc/bareos/bareos-fd.conf and the files in
/etc/bareos/bareos-fd.d/*/*.conf is identical, just splitted in
different files. So if its works with /etc/bareos/bareos-fd.conf it has
to work with the directory structure.

However, the error you mention in your email indicates, that there are
several client resources. Please check just and specify only 1 client
resource.

grep -ri ^Client /etc/bareos/bareos-fd.d/*/*.conf

should only list one file.
Please be aware, that /etc/bareos/bareos-fd.d/client/myself.conf might
be recreated on package updates. If you want to delete it, replace it
with an empty file.

Regards,
Jörg

Hello Jörg,

thanks for your answer. Could it be possible that Client {} is the same as FileDaemon {} ? It looks like this was the problem i encountered, because I've added in bareos-fd.conf 4 sections, Client {}, FileDaemon {}, Messages {} and ClientDaemon {} where ClientDaemon holds the encryption settings. Now, i've deleted ClientDaemon {} Section and added the encryption settings to the Client {} section. Seems still to encrypt and the error msg is gone.

A lot regards!
