Hi guys,

Sorry in advance if my post

I'm new to Bareos and I want to setup Always incremental, but I'm not sure I fully understood how to configure properly this feature...
I have 3 clients and 2 NAS, and I want to copy each job from one NAS to the other (copies are OK).

Incrementals are OK, I just don't really know how to configure correctly my jobs for the consolidation

I'd like to configure AI like this :

- 1 full per month at the beginning of the month
- Consolidation every 3 days with incrementals
- Consolidation with the full at the end of the month

I followed the doc, but, again, I'm not sure I've fully understood how consolidation really works...

I want to do like this because I have 1,5 TB of space, and I have to keep 1 year of saves. (full around 220GB for 1 client)

If I understood, like this at the end of the month, I'll have only one file : the full consolidated for the month. Am I right ?

You'll find my config for director and storage in the zip attached.

They are not scheduled yet because I'm still testing.

My question is : how do I need to configure always incremental parameters to have a consolidation like I want ?
I don't fully understand how works parameters like those below

Always Incremental Job Retention = ? days
Always Incremental Max Full Age = ? days

I tested with 3 incrementals (for 3 days), but I must have made a mistake it don't consolidate

13-Aug 06:45 bareos-dir JobId 47: Nessus-AI: considering jobs older than 10-Aug-2020 06:45:30 for consolidation.
13-Aug 06:45 bareos-dir JobId 47: Nessus-AI: less incrementals than required to consolidate without full, not consolidating

I have other questions :

- I'm not using "Jobdefs" parameter, is it bad ? To be honest, I seems a little useless to me if you configure all parameters in Jobs

- I saw the "Accurate" parameter, and I'm not sure but, if an user deletes by mistake a file, and ask me
for restore it few days later, with this parameter the file will not be kept ?

- There is a way to have consolidation on my second NAS too ? Or because they are copies, they're not considered in the AI scheme and can't be consolidated ?

Thank you for your advices and help.

Best Regards,
Hugo
