NetApp NDMP DUMP named snapshot?

Hi,

I'm doing NDMP DUMP of NetApp volumes, surprisingly, there doesn't seem to be a way to do a dump from a preexisting snapshot.  The NetApp creates a snapshot on the volume as part of the DUMP process, but doesn't seem to expose a way to specify an snapshot for DUMP.  There is a way to do it for SMTAPE (which is basically the block-level vs. file level type of backup).

My use case is to do full backups based on a monthly snapshot.

This seems to be a NetApp limitation, but I'm wondering if anyone knows different.
